Project Details: Athleta x Allyson Felix – A Homecoming on the Track

When Athleta entrusted me with this “top secret” project, the goal was simple: introduce Allyson Felix as their newest sponsored athlete in a way that felt authentic and meaningful. At the time, she was the most decorated female Olympic athlete in history—a true icon of the sport.
To create an environment that resonated with her journey, I rented her original training track in Watts, Los Angeles. My hope was to evoke nostalgia and make her feel at home. To maintain the surprise, I left the track open to the public—ensuring that nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
What happened next was something I could have never predicted. Instead of just a shoot, the track became the backdrop for an organic and powerful reunion. Pro athletes, amateur runners, and local prospects naturally gravitated to the space, training together, exchanging advice, and uplifting one another. It was more than a production—it was a homecoming, a celebration of the running community, and a reminder of the bonds that sports create.
